Just though I would introduce myself.
I'm beaslbob and have been keeping planted fw and marine aquariums since the late '70's following methods I first heard of in a Feb, 1979 Robert Gaser article "some new (or are they old) ideas on aquarium keeping" in freshwater and marine aquariums. Basically, I just plant the tank first then do the rest. With no filter and no water changes the tank ran for up to 6 years at various cities as I moved around in the Air Force.
In the last couple of years one message board even dubed these the beaslbob build. LOL
anyrate I'm glad to see Inalnd aquatics has a message board setup and running.
Hopefully and time premitting I can contribute without being flames for such experimental and unproven ideas and methods. It has been my experience that newbies can prevent and even recover from those initial setup/cycle problems with the addition of fast growing plants.
Glad to be here.
